Empowering Government Services Through Technology
Explore Our ServicesThis Privacy Policy explains how Webster Apps Inc. (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you install or use (the “App”) in connection with your Shopify store (the “Services”).
If you have questions, contact: info@websterapps.com
This Policy applies to:
Shopify merchants (store owners) and their authorized staff who install/use the App (“Merchant”, “you”).
Information processed through your Shopify store via the App (which may include information about your customers, employees, contractors, or other individuals).
The App is installed by a Merchant on Shopify. For customer personal information collected by your storefront, the Merchant is typically the party responsible for that customer data. We act as a service provider / processor for that data to deliver the App’s functions.
When you install the App, Shopify provides us access to certain store data based on the API scopes you approve. Depending on the App’s features, this may include:
Store and account information (store name, domain, address, email, owner/staff identifiers)
Products, variants, collections, inventory
Orders, fulfillments, returns data
Customers (name, email, phone, shipping/billing addresses) only if you approve customer-related scopes
Marketing and analytics data (if applicable)
Online store events and webhooks (e.g., order created/updated)
Note: Replace the above bullets with the specific categories your App actually uses.
We may collect information about how you use the App, such as:
Feature usage, settings, and configuration
Logs and diagnostic data (IP address, timestamps, error reports)
Device/browser information (user agent, operating system)
If you contact support, we may collect:
Your name, email, and message content
Any attachments or screenshots you choose to provide
If the App uses cookies or similar technologies (e.g., for embedded admin UI, analytics, or session management), we may collect usage and session data.
We use information to:
Provide, operate, and maintain the App
Authenticate users and connect to Shopify APIs
Configure App features and perform requested actions in your store
Process data as instructed by you (e.g., generate outputs, sync data, apply settings)
Monitor performance, prevent fraud/abuse, and troubleshoot issues
Communicate with you about the App (billing, updates, security notices, support)
Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
We do not sell personal information.
Where required, we rely on one or more of the following:
Performance of a contract (providing the App you requested)
Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, service improvement) where not overridden by your rights
Consent (for optional marketing or non-essential cookies, where applicable)
Legal obligation (tax, compliance, lawful requests)
We may share information in the following circumstances:
We may use third parties to help operate the App (hosting, databases, analytics, support tools, email delivery, error monitoring, payment/billing). These providers are authorized to process information only as needed to provide services to us.

Shopify processes information independently under its own privacy policy. The App uses Shopify APIs and may send or receive store data through Shopify’s platform.
We may disclose information if required to comply with law or to respond to valid legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
We retain information only as long as necessary for:
Delivering the Services and fulfilling the purposes described in this Policy
Meeting legal, accounting, or reporting requirements
Resolving disputes and enforcing agreements
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information (e.g., access controls, least privilege, encryption in transit, secure storage practices). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, where data protection laws may differ.
If you are in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers (such as standard contractual clauses) where required.
You can:
Adjust App settings in Shopify admin
Uninstall the App at any time (which revokes Shopify API access)
Contact us to request deletion of App-held data, subject to legal/operational limits
If the App processes your customers’ personal information on your behalf, requests from end customers (access, deletion, correction) should generally be directed to the Merchant (the store). We will assist the Merchant as needed to fulfill such requests, consistent with applicable law and our agreements.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, object, restrict processing, or request portability. To exercise rights, contact info@websterapps.com
The App is not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes may be communicated through the App, email, or Shopify admin notifications where appropriate.
